A successful conclusion of the COMBILASER project
The COMBILASER European project run under the Horizon 2020 Framework Research Programme has been successfully concluded.
The project has – with important inputs from SiEVA Research Centre – successfully concluded the last validation processes real industrial environment for all industrial use-cases present in the project. The developed solutions vastly improve modern welding and cladding processes with their upgrade in a form of integration of monitoring and NDT technologies with a brand-new Self-Learning System. This enables zero-defect production process to come much closer to realization.
SiEVA's participation in the COMBILASER project has proven enormously beneficial for the Development Centre. SiEVA gained new international R&D links, partnerships, and improved its references in the European R&D domain. This puts the SiEVA Research Centre in a good position for developing new ideas not just for the concluding H2020 projects initiatives but especially for the upcoming FP9 framework research program.
COMBILASER PROJECT – Presenting the results
The three-year-long COMBILASER European research project is slowly ending. The project's industrial partners have concluded their implementation and validation of the developed systems in an industrial environment. These have now been presented in a newly published project brochure.
As a part of the COMBILASER project, the SiEVA Development Centre has published its second flyer presenting the achieved results in this Horizon 2020 European project. The general information on the project is available here, or visit the COMBILASER webpage or Youtube Channel for more information. The project's main achievement is a development of three separate laser-manufacturing systems and their integration with advanced algorithmic and monitoring solutions. The three industrial partners (Hidria AET from Slovenia and Orkli and TMC from Spain) represent the most advanced branches of European industry. Their decision to use the COMBILASER project to improve their laser processing systems with a Self-Learning System and different stages of NDT testing solutions represents a cutting-edge innovation on a European level.
The brochure is accessible on this link.
Introducing the COMBILASER project video
After the short introductory video for the FACTS4WORKERS project, SiEVA's second Horizon 2020 project – COMBILASER gets its moment of glory. The introductory video was shot in entirety within the assembly premises of the clean room located in the Hidria AET in Tolmin, Slovenia. The production of the Hidria's newest Hidria OPTYMUS Pressure-Sensor Glow Plug can be also seen during the video, which can itself be found on this link.
The movie presents the basic functioning of the developed system which has just recently been implemented into production – you can find more information in the news article below – and which brings together multiple functions in a one compact setup; among these one must stress the advnced Self-Learning System developed by the University of Sheffield. The COMBILASER consortium partners are now entering the infal stretch of the project, which will be – also by SiEVA's active help – promoted to the interested public on the national and European levels.
